Driver faces DWI, neglect charges

An Ossian man was arrested early Thursday after authorities said he tested three times the legal limit for alcohol while driving and vomited in his seat – all with his girlfriend’s daughter in the car.

When police stopped Blair R. Fischbach, 27, about 1 a.m. on Bluffton Road he was unsteady, had a half-empty beer can and an empty whiskey shooter in the car, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The report did not specify how old the girl in the car was but that she was younger than 18. Fischbach’s blood-alcohol level tested at 0.24 percent, police said.

He was arrested on charges of neglect of a dependent, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

He was being held without bail in an unrelated case.
