Suspect sought in theft, use of cards

Fort Wayne police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the thefts and usage of credit cards taken outside a north-side restaurant.

The surveillance photo is from the Meijer on Lima Road, one of the places where the suspect used a stolen credit card to obtain cash, police said.

The man is believed to have stolen several credit and debit cards about 5:30 p.m. June 17 from the car of a woman dining at Cork N Cleaver, 221 E. Washington Center Road.

Police said the man and a woman then drove a black SUV, possibly a Yukon, to stores in the area to obtain a total of $800 in cash within three hours of the theft.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
