Warsaw boys, girls place 1st at home

– Warsaw’s Owen Glogovsky finished first in the boys 5K race at the Warsaw Invitational. Glogovsky finished the course in 16 minutes, 39.55 seconds. Warsaw’s boys finished first with 35 points ahead of second-place Huntington North, which had 86 points.

Allison Miller helped the Warsaw girls team finish first (30 points) with a second-place finish in 19:32.18. Huntington North finished second with 72 points.

Cross country

At Havenhurst, Deric Laurent and Hayley Newman led New Haven to first-place team finishes against Blackhawk Christian and Heritage. Laurent finished the 5K course in 16:57, and Newman in 21:26.


CARROLL 172, HOMESTEAD 188: At Willow Ridge, Sarah Banister shot a 2-over 38 to lead the Chargers. The Spartans were led by Betsy Schroeder’s 45.

SOUTH ADAMS 185, BLUFFTON 227: At Timber Ridge, Sydney Willis shot a 4-over 40 to lead the Starfires. Abby Walton led the Tigers with a 56.

Boys soccer

CARROLL 10, NEW HAVEN 0: At Carroll, Tyler Sidwell had two goals and two assists, and Adam Gannon had two goals for the Chargers.

Girls soccer

NORTHROP 6, SOUTH SIDE 0: At Northrop, Alexis Neyman and Alyssa Reisgies scored two goals for the Bruins.


BELLMONT 3, HERITAGE 0: At Bellmont, Sadie Alberson had eight kills, Taylor Bebout had 17 assists, Amanda Hunter had seven aces and Rachel Salerno had 11 digs for the Braves.

LEO 2, NORTHROP 0: At Northrop, Jennifer Timbrook had 13 digs, Maddie MacDonald had three aces and Emily Wenglikowski had seven kills and five blocks for the Lions.
