Police seek help in identifying theft suspect

Fort Wayne police said today they are seeking the public's help in identifying a man suspected in a June 17 theft outside a north-side restaurant.

The surveillance photo is from the Meijer on Lima Road, one of the places where the suspect used a stolen credit card to obtain cash, Fort Wayne police said in a statement.

Police said the suspect is believed to have stolen several credit and debit cards about 5:30 p.m. from the car of a woman dining at Cork N Cleaver, 221 E. Washington Center Road.

They said he and a woman then drove a black SUV, possibly a Yukon, to stores in the area to obtain a total of $800 in cash within three hours of the theft.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 260-436-STOP.
