A downtown dynasty marching on

Would anyone have believed all this seven years ago?

The TinCaps set a franchise season attendance record last week. Monday, they made the playoffs for the sixth straight year.

Attendance has gone up every year since the team began playing at Parkview Field in 2009. The wild card playoff berth came after the TinCaps, who struggled in the first half of this season, won seven of their last nine games, ending with three victories over Bowling Green.

The continually climbing attendance numbers are evidence of how the field and the team have enriched the life of downtown Fort Wayne. Now, improbably, the team is in the playoffs again, starting at 7:05 tonight at Parkview Field.

Go, TinCaps!
