Conservation officers catch man fleeing on a boat

– Statement as issued Monday morning by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources:

Indiana Conservation Officers assisted Kosciusko County Police track down and apprehend Daniel Peterson (24, Goshen) on Lake Wawasee.

The Kosciusko County Lake Patrol attempted to stop a large “Cigar” style boat after dark travelling at a high rate of speed across Lake Wawasee. The large boat did not have any lights on and fled from the County Police. The County Police Lake Patrol chased Daniel Peterson right to an Indiana Conservation Officer that was on the lake near the Conservation Officer’s Headquarters Building.

Daniel Peterson faces multiple charges including resisting law enforcement and dangerous operation of a motorboat.

Indiana Conservation Officers would like to remind the public to stay safe on the water and wear a life jacket. All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
