TinCaps make Midwest League playoffs

VanMeter

Josh VanMeter's three-run homer in the seventh inning broke a scoreless tie and led the TinCaps to a Midwest League playoff berth with a 4-0 victory Monday over Bowling Green in Bowling Green, Ky.

The blast from VanMeter, a Norwell graduate, means Fort Wayne will have a home game at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in a best-of-three playoff series against West Michigan. The club finished the regular season winning seven of its last nine games.

It's the sixth year in a row the TinCaps have made the league playoffs -- every year since the former Wizards moved into Parkview Field.
