5 injured in Noble as car strikes tree

Five Noble County people were injured when their vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree early Sunday.

Cody Harroff, 26, and four passengers were in a 2008 Chrysler 300 on County Road 750 West, north of County Road 500 North near Ligonier when the crash occurred at 2:45 a.m., according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Department.

Harroff was pinned in the vehicle with possible head and neck injuries and was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center, police said.

Three of the four passengers, Brandon Watts, 25, and Heather Taylor, 30, both of Ligonier; Kevin Frane, 18, of Kendallville and Anthony Hoover, 31, of Kimmell, were transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center. The other was treated at the scene and released.

A police statement does not specify which passengers were taken to the hospital.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation, according to police.
