Burned body found in back yard

INDIANAPOLIS – Police said an Indianapolis homeowner found the body of a badly burned woman in his back yard.

Police said the homeowner was out walking his dog on Sunday when he spotted the body in the neighborhood just northwest of the city’s downtown.

Investigators haven’t yet identified the woman but believe she was likely killed elsewhere and that her body was dumped in the back yard. Police said an autopsy is expected to be performed on the body today.
