Woman identified in yesterday's fatal crash on St. Joe Road

A woman who died last night after being involved in a crash on St. Joe Road has been identified as Jami Elizabeth Beale, 25, of Fort Wayne, according to a statement from the Allen County Coroner’s office.

Beale was driving a black car south in the 5600 block of St. Joe Road in front of Pierre’s Entertainment Center when she abruptly made a left turn, crossing into oncoming traffic, according to witness statements to police.

The statement said she died of blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was an accident.

Beale is the 18th traffic fatality in Allen county in 2014.

The incident is under investigation.
