Firefighter Doug Call, from Station 9, collects donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on St. Joe Center Road. Thursday was the beginning of Fill the Boot campaign, and Fort Wayne firefighters are positioning themselves at high-traffic intersections to collect donations for MDA from cars stopped at traffic lights. In 2013, Fort Wayne firefighters collected a record $98,045.64 and raised more money than any other department in the state, said Capt. Randy Zion, IAFF Local 124 MDA chairman.
