Second City, 'Evil Dead' coming to Embassy this fall

The Chicago comedy troupe The Second City and the award-winning show "Evil Dead - The Musical" will be at Embassy Theatre this fall, the theater announced today.

Second City will be at the theater at 8 p.m. Nov. 7 as part of its 55th anniversary tour. Tickets are $68, $38 and $28, and go on sale Aug. 29 at the Embassy box office, or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.

The show is being presented by Manchester University as part of the university's 125th anniversary celebration.

"Evil Dead - The Musical" will be at the theater at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 15. The Canadian musical tells the story of five college friends spending the weekend in an abandoned cabin after accidentally unleashing an evil force that turns them all into demons.

Audience members sitting in a designated "splatter zone" (the orchestra pit) get covered in fake blood during the production, the theater said. It said the show is not suitable for children ages 12 and younger.

Tickets are $55, $40, $30 and $20, and also will be available Aug. 29.
