State jobless rate steady in July

Indiana's jobless rate remained at 5.9 percent in July, unchanged from June, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development said today.

An increase of 9,900 jobs in the private sector was offset by a gain in the size of the labor force, the department said in a statement.

The state's unemployment rate was 7.6 percent in July 2013.
