Heavy smoke, flames damage Angola home

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire throughout a rural Angola home Friday afternoon.

When a Steuben County sheriff’s deputy arrived about 4 p.m. at the home at 3005 S. 150 W., a few miles south of Angola, the fire department said flames and heavy smoke were found coming from the rear of the home.

The first firefighters to enter the home fought back heavy smoke and fire throughout the house’s interior, a report said.

The fire was under control in about 10 minutes.

The extent of the damage was not detailed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said.
