Westbound U.S. 30 has been closed at Indiana 101 because of this fatal crash near Snyder Road in southeast Allen County.

Truck driver dies in US 30 crash

Anyone traveling west on U.S. 30 in the far eastern part of Allen County tonight is asked to avoid a section of U.S. 30 while police work to remove a semi tractor-trailer from a field.

The driver of the semi was found dead in the cab when emergency responders arrived to the scene in the westbound lanes of U.S. 30, near the intersection with Snyder Road several miles east of New Haven, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.

The highway is closed at Indiana 101 and motorists have to detour onto Old Lincoln Highway to avoid the closed section of U.S. 30.

Old Lincoln Highway will eventually intersect with U.S. 30 west of the crash site.

The highway cannot be partially opened while crews work to remove the semi, and both westbound lanes will likely be closed for several hours, according to Jeremy Tinkel, sheriff’s department spokesman.
