1 killed when train hits car

WESTON, Ohio – One person has been killed when a train crashed into a car in northwest Ohio.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Monday, a southbound vehicle failed to stop for an eastbound train at a crossing in Wood County, south of Toledo, the sheriff's department said.

The passenger of the car died at the scene. The driver was flown to a Toledo hospital. Their names haven’t been released.

The investigation continues.
