15 cited during Wawasee sandbar detail

Conservation officers cited 15 people Saturday during a targeted enforcement detail on the Lake Wawasee sandbar, the Department of Natural Resources said today.

Officers conducted increased surveillance in various types of watercraft to monitor boat traffic for alcohol-related offenses, conservation officers said in a statement.

Thirteen minors received citations alleging underage drinking and two people received citations alleging boating infractions, the statement said.
