Kosciusko probing mother’s stabbing

They were talking in the kitchen Sunday when the younger woman suddenly brandished a knife.

Now, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing in which detectives believe a daughter put a puncture wound in her mother’s chest, sending her to a hospital in serious condition.

Deputies were called to a home at 4418 N. Sullivan Road in Leesburg at about 1 p.m., according to police.

There, they found 60-year-old Ada F. Dill suffering from a stab wound. Also at the home was 28-year-old Stephanie Nelson, Dill’s daughter.

Police did not release what Nelson and Dill were discussing before the stabbing. And while a preliminary investigation points to Nelson as the one who stabbed Dill, she has yet to be charged with a crime.

Dill was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne; Nelson was taken to a hospital in Kosciusko County for evaluation, according to police.

The stabbing is under investigation.

When completed, its results will be given to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
