Sheriffs alert bank customers to debit-card scam

Farmers State Bank has received several reports from customers about automated calls saying their debit cards have been compromised, the sheriffs of LaGrange and Steuben counties said today.

The calls are a scam: The bank does not use automated calls to alert customers about debit-card fraud, the sheriffs said in a statement.

Anyone receiving a call who has any questions should contact the bank before giving out personal information, the statement said.
