Motorcyclist killed after truck collision in Noble

A Garrett man was killed Friday morning when a truck with an attached tank pulled into the path of his motorcycle in Noble County.

Merlin Isaac Jr., 39, was riding his Harley-Davidson east on Baseline Road when he crashed into the truck at the intersection with County Road 600 East, according to the Indiana State Police.

Police said the driver of the truck, 62-year-old LaGrange resident Richard Smith, was traveling north on County Road 600 East and stopped at Baseline Road before he entered the intersection.

Isaac crested a hill just to the west of the intersection as Smith’s truck crossed the road, and the motorcycle hit the side of the truck, according to police.
