TinCaps lose to Lake County

The TinCaps let a solid outing by starter Kyle Lloyd go for naught in a 5-2 loss to the Lake County Captains on Saturday before 7,949 fans at Parkview Field.

Lloyd, who has 52 strikeouts in his last six starts, went six innings (and one batter), gave up two hits and struck out seven.

He was charged with a run when he walked a batter to start the seventh and was taken out. The run eventually came across to score with Eric Yardley on the mound.

Fort Wayne went up 2-0 in the sixth inning on RBI singles from Franmil Reyes and John Nester, who was making his TinCaps debut.

Lake County tied the game at 2 in the seventh on three walks and a hit.

Right-fielder Franmil Reyes saved another run when he threw out Torsen Boss at home plate.

The Captains (23-24, 50-67) got two solo home runs in the ninth to clinch their second straight win over the TinCaps (22-26, 51-65).
