Mike's Carwash to form 2 companies in 'friendly reorganization'

Mike's Carwash is splitting into two independent companies to create more opportunities for their 750 employees and ensure family business succession planning, the company said today.

Mike Dahm will operate 15 locations in Fort Wayne, Mishawaka, Cincinnati, Dayton and Evansville from offices in Cincinnati and Fort Wayne, keeping the Mike's name and getting a new branded look, the company said in a statement.

His brother, Bill Dahm, will operate 26 central Indiana carwashes based in Indianapolis under the name Crew Carwash, maintaining the same branded look, the statement said.

"We've spent many months in discussions with each other and consultants who specialize in family business succession planning," Bill Dahm said in the statement. "This is a friendly reorganization that will lead to more growth for both of the new companies."

Mike Dahm said: "By making these plans now when the company is financially strong and when there is no urgency or outside forces dictating action, we can make wise and well thought out decisions for the future."

All existing Mike's Carwash tickets and coupons will always be accepted at both businesses, the statement said.
