Motorcyclist killed, 3 hurt in Ohio crash

A 27-year-old Pioneer, Ohio, man was killed Monday night when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a minivan with two kids in the backseat at County Road I and County Road 10 in Superior township in Williams County, the Defiance post of the Highway Patrol said.

Police say the victim, Robert Gray, was traveling north on County Road 10, failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Misty Rice, of Edon, Ohio, who was traveling west on County Road I with two children in the backseat. Her 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette van was heavily damaged in the crash. The intersection was closed for two hours as a result of the crash.

Gray was pronounced dead at the scene. Rice and the two children were taken to Bryan Community Hospital.

Police say Rice was wearing a seat belt and both children were in child restraint seats. Gray was wearing a helmet.

The crash is under investigation.
