3 killed in shooting outside Indiana business

MONTICELLO, Ind. (AP) — A northern Indiana sheriff says three people are dead following a shooting in a parking lot outside a furniture plant.

White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer tells the Lafayette Journal & Courier and WLFI-TV that two men died at the scene Tuesday. A woman was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Shafer says one man and the woman were found inside a car. The other man was found outside on the ground.

The victims' names have not been released. Shafer says — in his words — "at this point in time there are no other persons of interest that we're looking for."

Shafer says detectives found a box and a handgun at the scene outside Jordan Manufacturing in the city of Monticello, about 70 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
