Defendant admits molesting, takes deal

A Fort Wayne man who pleaded guilty Monday to molesting a girl under 14 years old will likely receive a suspended prison sentence.

Dennis Nidlinger, 60, pleaded guilty to one count of child molesting as part of a plea agreement with Allen County Prosecutors, according to Allen Superior Court documents.

If a judge accepts the agreement next month, Nidlinger will receive an 8-year suspended sentence but be on probation for all of those years.

According to court documents, Nidlinger knew the girl he molested. She told police she felt sorry for Nidlinger because he’s a quadrapalegic, court documents said.
