1 dead in 3-vehicle crash

A man has died in a three-vehicle collision at West Jefferson Boulevard and Olde Canal Place, Fort Wayne police said today.

Police said they responded shortly after 9 a.m. to the crash, and paramedics treated one of the drivers at the scene before taking him to a local hospital, where he died.

The other two drivers were not injured.

Police said two of the vehicles were stopped at the intersection headed east on Jefferson when a van struck one of the vehicles in the rear. The van then collided with a utility pole, they said.

It's possible the van's driver may have had a medical condition before the collision, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the city police's FACT team and the Allen County coroner's office.
