  • Girl, lifeless, pulled from pond
    A diver pulled the body of 3-year-old girl out of a pond on AllenCounty's south side Tuesday afternoon. She was pronounced dead, according to authorities at the scene.
  • Second victim identified
    Fort Wayne Police have identified the second person shot Sunday in the 600 block of East Rudisill Boulevard as James W. Armstrong from Arizona.
  • Semi rollover stalls traffic on I-469
    A semi that rolled onto its side caused slowdowns in traffic on Interstate 469 on Monday, according to Indiana State Police.There were only minor injuries in the crash.

Angola man injured in early morning crash

An Angola man who police believe fell asleep at the wheel and crashed was airlifted to a local hospital at 6 a.m. Sunday.

Nathan Lee West, 25, was traveling northbound on Interstate 69 in Steuben County, when his 2009 Jeep Liberty traveled off the east side of the road and down into a culvert before it struck a sign and hit a concrete wall, according to Indiana State Police.

West, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, suffered a broken right leg as well a head injury and was transported via Samaritan to Parkview Regional Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
