Fire damages industrial building

A vacant industrial building on the city's southwest side sustained heavy smoke and fire damage late Saturday, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Crews were called to the one-story building at 6301 Ardmore Ave., north of Lower Huntington Road, about 9:30 p.m. and found smoke and flames visible upon arrival, the fire department said.

The blaze was brought under control in just under an hour and a majority of the building was saved. There were no injuries and the cause remains under investigation.
