Ben Murray, 20, of Wawaka was a passenger in a car traveling east on Indiana 4 between Steuben County Roads 800 and 900 West when a westbound minivan hit the car head on, according to the Indiana State Police.
Murray was pinned in the car and had to be extricated by firefighters before he was airlifted from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital.
He suffered critical internal injuries and died about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. Ron Galaviz, public information officer for the Indiana State Police.
