Documents to be shredded for free

The Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana, the Indiana State Police and U.S. Postal Service have partnered to host Shred Day from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug. 16.

This is an opportunity for the public to have unwanted credit card offers, confidential documents and other paperwork securely disposed of free of charge.

An Iron Mountain mobile shredder will be set up in the parking lot of Afdent Dental Services, 4041 Parnell Ave., across from Memorial Coliseum. Those dropping off items may watch as their documents are destroyed immediately.

Cash donations will be accepted to the BBB Charitable and Education Fund. The nonprofit awards scholarships to local students.

For more information, call Caitlin Watts at the BBB at 969-9549.
