Six escape burning quadplex

Six people escaped a burning quadplex without injuries early Wednesday morning, according to a Fort Wayne Fire Department statement.

When firefighters arrived at 928 Rivermet at 1:43 a.m., they found a fire inside the wall cavity on the second floor extending into the attic. Crews were able to put out the fire in 15 minutes, the statement said.

Everyone inside the home had gotten out before crews arrived.

The home received minor fire, water and smoke damage.

Fort Wayne police officers, TRAA medics, NIPSCO, AEP and NCE assisted at the scene.
