Police were still piecing together information on a Sunday evening crash on Runnion Avenue.

3 hurt in Runnion rollover van crash

One man saw the debris flying through the air out his window.

Another heard a loud bang from blocks away. A woman saw the van skidding to a stop after taking out a light pole and power line. And she saw a man with skin hanging off his arm emerge from the vehicle.

Fort Wayne Police were trying to piece together what led to a one-vehicle crash Sunday night that left a trail of debris blocks long down Runnion Avenue, on Fort Wayne’s near west side.

The crash left two men in critical condition and another in serious condition, according to Fort Wayne police.

Witnesses told police that the van was speeding as it went over some railroad tracks near Runnion and Richardson Street about 8:30 p.m.

The van then began to flip, turning over several times, witnesses said.

Glass and parts of the van littered the street until it hit a pole and came to a rest at Runnion and Howell Street.

One of the three men inside was ejected as the van made its way down the street; the other two were pinned inside the van.

The crash caused some in the neighborhood to lose power.
