TinCaps shut out Kernels

Jeffery Enloe and two relievers combined on a four-hitter Sunday as the TinCaps shut out Cedar Rapids 2-0.

With the win at Perfect Game Field, the TinCaps ended the Kernels’ four-game winning streak.

Jake Bauers walked to lead off the second inning, reached second on a Ronnie Richardson single, third on a Nick Schulz grounder and scored on Henry Charles’ groundout.

In the third, Trea Turner doubled to lead off. He reached third on Dustin Peterson’s flyout and scored on Fernando Perez’s sacrifice fly.

Starter Enloe (2-3) pitched 5 1/3 innings. He gave up four hits and struck out one. Reliever Eric Yardley and closer Ryan Butler combined for 3 2/3 inning of perfect ball, combining for six strikeouts.

The TinCaps (11-18, 41-57) complete the three-game series at Cedar Rapids at 1:05 p.m. Monday.
