Police investigated a robbery at Chase Bank on Saturday morning in 3100 block of East State Boulevard.

Chase Bank robbed on E. State

A man in a mask robbed Chase Bank on East State Boulevard and got away Saturday morning with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Police were called to the bank in the 3100 block of East State Boulevard just after 11 a.m. and determined that a thief dressed in blue coveralls from head to toe had robbed the bank and fled westbound toward Santa Rosa Drive, the police statement said.

The man was just over 6 feet tall and was wearing a mask and gloves. A weapon was not seen during the robbery. He fled on foot carrying a bag of money, the statement said.

A canine track was started and ended by early Saturday afternoon. Witnesses and bank employees were interviewed, and police began studying surveillance video for further clues and evidence, the statement said.

A white Dodge or Chrysler minivan with tinted windows seen in the area roughly a half-hour before the robbery may be of interest, according to the statement.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
