Shots fired, none hurt as police get differing details

No one was hurt after bullets were fired at three south-side city homes and a car just north of East Rudisill Boulevard on Sunday, according to Fort Wayne Police.

Details were sketchy because witnesses were uncooperative, police spokesman Jason Anthony said.

Shots fired at two homes in the 3800 block of Monroe Street and one in the 3700 block of nearby Warsaw Street were reported at 3:57 p.m. Sunday by someone traveling in the vicinity of Gumpper Avenue and Warsaw Street, Anthony said.

Police did confirm that bullets were found in the houses and at least one was fired at a car.

“It’s a mess,” Anthony said. “As far as we can tell, someone was shooting at a group of people standing near Warsaw Street, and they fired back at a passing car, but that driver is not being cooperative.

The car’s windshield and rear window were damaged, he said.

Conflicting reports on the make and model of the cars involved have further stymied police efforts, Anthony said.

No one is being held in the shooting, which is still under investigation, Anthony said.
