Father revives 3-year-old face down in pool

COLUMBUS, Ind. -- A father revived his 3-year-old son after spotting the boy face down in an apartment complex pool, authorities said.

Columbus Fire Department Capt. Mike Wilson said the boy was conscious and alert after being revived on Thursday, and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police told The Republic (http://bit.ly/1mmULXA ) the boy was at the pool with his father and 9-year-old brother. The father was teaching the older boy to swim as the younger boy was floating on a raft.

Officials said the man turned around the see the 3-year-old in the water, pulled him out and started performing CPR.
