Man in critical condition after early morning shooting

A man was in critical condition after being shot early Thursday morning outside a home on Lillie Street.

Fort Wayne Police Public Information Officer Chris Felton says police responded to the 4000 block of Lillie St. at 2:18 a.m. where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was in serious condition and was taken to a hospital where he was downgraded to critical.

The only information police have to go on at this time is a light colored SUV that may have been involved.

Felton says police are interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence and that it is too early to know what led to the shooting or if it was gang related.

Felton says they hope to talk with the victim soon.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
