Lake death ruled a drowning

A 31-year-old Fort Wayne man who was pulled Monday from the Kekionga Shores subdivision lake drowned, according to a ruling issued Tuesday by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

The autopsy was performed Tuesday afternoon at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center on Adam James Palm. The coroner’s office ruled his death to be an accident.

He had been swimming with several children when he went to get a beach ball that had floated into deeper water. According to accounts, he began to struggle, went under and did not come back up.

Rescue workers pulled Palm out of the water and took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
