Vacant house takes heavy fire damage

Fort Wayne firefighters were called to 2211 Dale Drive on the city’s south side about 10 p.m. Saturday and found fire coming from the rear of a one-story home, according to the fire department.

Crews brought the blaze under control in 17 minutes, the department said in a statement.

No one was in the home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The department described the house, which received heavy fire and smoke damage, as vacant or abandoned.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
