DNR seeks Indiana conservation officer candidates

– The Department of Natural Resources is recruiting applicants interested in becoming Indiana conservation officers.

The DNR says those interested must complete an on-line prerequisite test at dnrlaw.IN.gov/2760.htm by Nov. 30. Recruit school is scheduled to begin in June 2015.

Previously, applicants have been required to have an associate’s degree or 60 credit hours toward a bachelor’s degree. The application process is now open to individuals who do not meet the college requirement but have four years of continuous military service and have earned an honorable discharge.

Conservation officers enforce state laws, focusing their efforts on laws affecting natural resources, state properties, and recreational activities.
