Video: Pitch hits flying bird at TinCaps game

A video posting by TinCaps Productions shows a bird in flight being hit by the pitch at Saturday’s TinCaps game against the West Michigan Whitecaps at Parkview Field.

According to the description, Michigan’s Jon Maciel was throwing a 1-1 pitch to Josh VanMeter when it hit the small bird right in front of home plate.

By Monday afternoon, the video had more than 95,000 views.

The JG’s TinCaps beat writer Christopher Goff said we should credit Jared Law and Melissa Darby for the video.

Be warned, there are several slo-mo sections starting at 1:25 showing the bird being hit.
