CHEERS to the two clerks at Family Dollar on Goshen Road who helped me when my sister got lightheaded just as we entered the store. They were right there and helped her to a seat. One clerk got her own bottle of water and the other clerk helped me get a few of my items. When we were ready to leave, they had me pull to the front of the store and helped her get in the car. I cannot thank you enough for all your help and caring. I’m sorry I did not get your names.

JEERS to John Crawford and his bullying through the union-busting of the city employees’ unions (without any detailed explanation), but not all unions in the city.
MARY JANE SMITH Fort Wayne
CHEERS to James Kimbro, who keeps the alley in his block clean, weed whacks, trims branches hanging into the alley and, when trash is left not in a bin and more closely resembles tornado damage than trash, he even helps the city load it. His nickname should be State Farm because, like a good neighbor, he is there.
VAUNETTA BARNHILL Fort Wayne
JEERS to whoever sprayed and killed everything green under many utility lines. When are you going to come back and clean up the ugly mess?
ELAINE BELTZ Fort Wayne
CHEERS to the construction crew(s) working on West Wayne Street in front of the 200 block. If the workings of the construction company doing the new building in downtown are anything like the crews working in front us, this will be a very professional job. Thanks for leaving access to our offices at 217 W. Wayne St. It has been business as usual for us despite the street construction.

JEERS to some drivers who use Green Road in New Haven. The speed limit from 930 South to Siler Road is 30 mph, not 50. This includes motorcycles.
MICK EDMISTON New Haven
CHEERS to The Phoenix Institute foster family agency for recognizing our foster moms and dads with gifts on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. They are always so kind and try to do special things for us. We love our Phoenix Institute foster family.

CHEERS to ARCH for another successful Historic Home & Garden Tour on June 28, and to the gracious and generous homeowners of Forest Park Boulevard for allowing the community to see the beautiful architecture of these houses and the luscious gardens they put so much work into. ARCH is another example of the incredible work done by the non-profits of Allen County. Our community is so much richer and a better place to call home because of the commitment and hard work from non-profit organizations.
