INDOT suspends highway work for holiday

INDOT said Thursday it would suspend road work from noon today through the morning hours of Monday "to optimize safety and mobility" during the July 4 holiday weekend.

Barrels and barricades are to be pulled back to the safest extent possible, the Indiana Department of Transportation said in a statement.

Larger projects that cannot be safely opened to traffic will remain closed or restricted, the statement said.
