Parkview doctor to serve on IU board

A local physician has been appointed as a trustee to a state university board by Gov. Mike Pence.

Dr. Michael Mirro of Allen County, chief academic research officer for Parkview Health, will serve a three-year term on the Indiana University Board of Trustees.

Mirro earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in Chicago and his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. His term on the board ends June 30, 2017.
