Dangerous weekend planned for Baer
The name of the game will be danger at Baer Field Speedway this Fourth of July weekend.
Among the festivities will be an appearance by Dr. Danger from the TV show American Daredevils on History. In his first-ever Indiana appearance, the Texas-based performer will entertain with his fire run and several other stunts, including a ramp jump and crash as a finale.
It won’t be the only crash fans will see this weekend.
Friday afternoon, the speedway will play host to a demolition derby featuring a $5,000 first prize. There will also be a compact car and Power Wheels derby for the kids.
Gates will open at 2 p.m. with the derby starting at 4.
Adult admission is $15 with kids 6 to 12 getting in for $5 and kids younger than 6 getting in free.
Saturday, the speedway will honor all service members past and present by admitting them with service or VFW ID for $5 on Military Appreciation Night.
Racing action will include a full five-division Super Show of ARBodies late models, modifieds, street stocks, Afdent Dental mini-stocks and front-wheel drives.
Non-military members will be admitted for $12 (adults) with kids 12 and younger admitted free.
