Bynes’ bong case dismissed

The bong-tossing case against Amanda Bynes was dismissed Monday after the actress complied with the judge’s orders to stay out of trouble and go to counseling.

Bynes, 28, was charged last year with reckless endangerment and marijuana possession. Building managers called police because they said she was smoking pot in the lobby of her Manhattan residence. When officers entered her 36th-floor apartment, they said they saw her heave a bong out the window.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Lori Petersen sealed the case after the dismissal. Bynes’ lawyer appeared in court; she was not present.

Leary back at FX

Denis Leary is back in business with FX, but this time he’s trading in his firefighter gear for a microphone as he plays an aging rocker desperate for his last chance at rock ’n’ roll fame in the comedy series “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.”

The cable channel ordered a 10-episode first season of the comedy, which stars Leary as Johnny Rock, a middle-aged singer who had a once-promising career but managed to blow it all through a combination of drinking, drugs and really poor interpersonal skills. But now he’s looking to get his old band back together. It will air in 2015.

Lifetime announced Zendaya’s participation two weeks ago. The announcement sparked anger from Aaliyah’s family, who are not participating in the project.
