    If you are interested in this sort of thing, here is a lawsuit that was filed against the ECHL by the CHL, in which it is alleged the ECHL tried to "poach" the Rapid City Rush and Allen Americans.

    Former Komets player Kevin Kaminski has been hired to coach the Portland Junior Pirates.
  • Mesiner signs with CHL team
    Goaltender Ben Meisner, who played last season for the Komets, has signed to play with Allen of the CHL this season.

Komets add 3 defensemen

The Komets added three defensemen to the roster for next season, re-signing William Lacasse and Matthew Maione while Drew Daniels has agreed to terms, completing a trade for future considerations made last season with Utah.

Lacasse began last season playing six games with Bloomington in the SPHL before skating 60 games and posting a third-best +13 with the Komets (9a, 10pts, 61pim).

Maione, 23, made his pro debut with Fort Wayne last season scoring three assists in 11 games before dishing four assists in 11 playoff games.

Daniels, 25, started last season with Cincinnati skating 44 games (6a, 7pts) before finishing the year appearing in 13 games with Utah.

Tuesday's additions push the Komets' roster to five players. Forwards Kaleigh Schrock and Mike Embach were announced Monday.
