TinCaps lose 4th straight

New location, same script.

One night after the South Bend Silver Hawks jumped on the TinCaps early in South Bend, the Dayton Dragons repeated the performance Tuesday in Dayton, striking for six runs in the first two innings and breezing to a 7-0 victory at Fifth Third Field. It was the fourth straight loss for the spiraling TinCaps (5-7, 35-46) and came against a team that had won only three of its first 11 games in the second half.

This time, the Dragons (4-8, 40-40) got a six-hit shutout from Dan Langfield, Radhames Quezada and Nolan Becker. Kyle Lloyd took the loss for the TinCaps, surrendering 10 hits and seven runs, six earned, in five innings.

Most of that damage came in the first two innings.

The Dragons got four in the first on singles by Jamodrick McGruder, Carlton Daal, Tanner Rahier and Avain Rachal and doubles by Phil Ervin and Jonathan Reynoso. Then they tacked on two more in the second on a leadoff walk, a single by Daal, a wild pitch and a two-run single by Rahier.

Dustin Peterson went 3 for 4 for the TinCaps.

Notes: The Padres sent right-handed pitcher Walker Weickel to the Arizona League Padres and transferred left-handed pitcher Jeffery Enloe from Double-A San Antonio to Fort Wayne.
