Komets re-sign Schrock, Embach

The Komets have re-signed forwards Kaleigh Schrock and Mike Embach for the 2014-15 season, the club announced today. Schrock and Embach are the first two players to be named to the roster.

Schrock, 29, of Fort Wayne, will be entering his sixth season with the Komets and as a pro, and will be returning as Komet captain, the team said in a statement.

He began his pro career in 2009-10 helping Fort Wayne to the IHL Turner Cup championship. Schrock also earned a championship with Fort Wayne while a member of the Central Hockey League in 2011-12. Last season, in 68 games, he had five goals, eight assists and 158 penalty minutes.

Embach, 26, of Orland Park, Illinois, will be entering his fourth pro season, the club said. The left winger started last season with Cincinnati and Gwinnett before being traded to Fort Wayne in December, where he finished the season with career highs of 28 goals and 25 assists in 68 ECHL games.

The Komets also announced they will host three exhibition games at Memorial Coliseum -- Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. vs. Evansville, and Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. against Kalamazoo.
