LaGrange County gets grant for fire truck

LaGrange County is receiving a $150,000 grant toward buying a new fire truck for Lima Township, Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann said today.

The grant is one of five statewide, totaling $1.5 million, made through the Public Facilities Program managed by Ellspermann's Office of Community and Rural Affairs, the lieutenant governor said in a statement.

The grant is paid for through a federal Community Block Grant; it has a $79,200 local match, for a total project cost of $229,200.

The new truck is to replace a 1975 tanker truck, the statement said.
